Dark Shadows Collins
Association Halloween Weekend
|
Below: Saturday evening, a group of friends and I enjoyed a fantastic meal in the Library
area of the mansion. Tables were also set up in the Rotunda area where the occupants had the pleasure of viewing
Cheep Productions' latest
endeavor, Heifer Hijinks. The laughter echoed throughout the building at the antics of Darryl
Schaffer as he once again assumed the roles of Barnabas Collins and Julia Hoffman for the production. The appetizer consisted of a pasta/vegetable medley that was simply delicious. For the main course, guests had the option of either
salmon or prime rib. I chose the prime rib, and it too was incredible. Side dishes included a rice/corn combination and a broccoli casserole type dish that was wonderful as well. The Collins Association also made a
concerted effort to provide the vegetarians in attendance with a wonderful meal, evident by the interest
generated in my friend Astrid's plate shown below. :>)

After dinner the Collins Association held an auction of Dark Shadows collectibles. David Selby acted as auctioneer, and I might add it seemed to come natural for him, as he did a very fine job. Items auctioned off
included: several Marilyn Ross Dark Shadows novels, sealed packages of Quentin postcards, and a few of the gorgeous posters like the one being displayed below by Mr. Selby & Collins Association president Ed Lambese. These colorful posters were specially made for the event, and highly sought after in the auction.
