The last time I spoke with Louis was on his birthday last September. I had sent him another frame of four pictures that included a couple shots of him and Nancy from the recent Festival. He thanked me for them and told me he was planning to host a dinner party that evening. He sounded in good spirits and told me that he would try and make the Collins Association Halloween party, but that he wasn't sure he would be able to. He ended up not attending.

In December, we had a family crisis that required my being at the hospital on a daily basis for about two months. This kept me pretty busy and I never got around to sending out Christmas cards or telephoning and corresponding with friends, so I never had another opportunity to speak to Louie.

While I may have not known Louie as well as some others who were closer to him, I will always treasure the memories that I do have.

Below is my favorite photo of Louie and me. It was taken on the trip to his house in May of last year. The painting on the wall depicts Louie as a child with his grandfather. It was made by an artist from a photograph Louie had. Rest in peace Louie..........you will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing you!

The above image is by artist John Graziano, who rendered the portraits of Barnabas, Quentin and Angelique for the popular poster series from Market Square/Imagine and also designed the 1993 DS Trading Card set. His portraits are available on eBay.
