It has always been a tradition (since I was first shown the house in 1993)  that a Seaview Virgin view the house for their first time like they have seen it so many times in the opening sequence of each Dark Shadows episode. On each visit, the 'virgins' are told to close their eyes. They are then led through the hedge area and positioned on the lawn and told to open their eyes. Personally, I can't think of a more surreal experience, then when you first open your eyes and see the silhouette of this grand house that you have seen so many times on your tiny TV screen. On this particular visit, I had prerecorded a message to play for the newbies as they were being led out to the lawn. You can listen to a Real Audio version of it by clicking here.
